The New Code of Ethics is now available on the College website. Thank you to all the stakeholders who provided feedback. Your input was valuable and made a difference.

Ethics is about the values that guide dietitians’ decisions and actions in various contexts. The Code of Ethics clearly articulates the application of four healthcare ethical principles which guide evidence-based dietetic practice: beneficence (to do good), non-maleficence (do no harm), respect for persons/justice and respect for autonomy.

The Code of Ethics, standards of practice and all relevant legislation, policies and guidelines are companion documents and none of these should be read or applied in isolation of the others.
