As the number of COVID-19 cases rises in Ontario, there is a growing concern for the rise in cases among health professions. As a result, the Ministry of Health has asked all health profession colleges to send a reminder message to their members to remain vigilant and practice good infection prevention and control to prevent COVID-19 transmission to their families, collegues and clients.
Keep Working Together for Workplace Safety
As “COVID Fatigue” sets in, there may be a tendency to become complacent and relax our attitudes around precautionary measures, which can cause risk of harm to others. In some cases, transmission in healthcare settings has occurred when letting the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) guard down, especially on break, during lunch and in meetings with your colleagues.
Keep working together with your colleagues and employers for workplace safety – universal masking, point of care risk assessments, and consistency in IPAC.
Share your knowledge and act together to support safe spaces for clients and coworkers. Keep following IPAC measures and encourage others to do the same.
