As our Registrar and Executive Director, you will provide visionary leadership and champion our organization’s mandate in your interactions with our Council, members, and stakeholders.

The College of Dietitians of Ontario was founded through the Dietetics Act, 1991, and became a regulatory body on December 31, 1993.  Our mandate under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Dietetics Act, 1991, is to regulate the profession of dietitians in Ontario in the interest of the public and public protection.

We set and enforce standards for qualifications, registration, continuing competence, conduct and ethics of the 4,200+ dietitians in Ontario. We assist people in Ontario to access dietitian services, handle their questions and concerns.

In 2020, the College embraced a new strategic plan to guide the long-term direction of the organization. Key goals include measuring and reporting our regulatory performance, enhancing communication to increase the public’s understanding of our mandate, strengthening our commitment to risk-based regulation, and updating our governance model to align with evidence-based practices.

As the ideal candidate and our new Registrar and Executive Director, you are an influential leader who has exceptional abilities managing relationships with Council and members as well as operational excellence. Your leadership legacy includes a track record of building relationships with your Council and key stakeholders, advancing organizational interests and engaging and inspiring employees.

As our Registrar and Executive Director, you will provide visionary leadership and champion our organization’s mandate in your interactions with our Council, members, and stakeholders.

In addition, the Registrar and Executive Director is responsible for the leadership and efficient delivery of all administrative and operational services. As the key advisor to Council, you have the vision to develop and implement operational plans and ensure the coordination of services which align to and support our strategic priorities. You will recommend policies, plans, and programs that are innovative, accountable, and fiscally sound.
