Regulation Matters 2021 Issue 1-May

Farewell to Monique Poirier - Communications Manager

After nineteen years at the College, Monique Poirier has retired, effective May 7, 2021. We take this opportunity to reflect on her contributions and accomplishments.

Monique worked in several different roles during her time at the College, most recently as the Communications Manager. She was instrumental in innovating the College’s communication practices, most notably by transitioning to the online environment, rebranding the College, and two massive website overhauls. Monique was also responsible for the development of several public education campaigns, dietitian and public-facing educational videos, and always ensured that the College’s communications maintained a focus on public protection.

Monique embodied a collaborative approach to all her work, through open and respectful communication. She provided leadership and expert guidance, together with an immense ability to laugh. Her contagious laughter was often heard around the College office which had a knack of bringing a fun perspective to all her work. Monique’s creativity has been recognized by her peers and colleagues across Ontario and nationally, and was a highly regarded Chair for several years on the Health Profession Regulators of Ontario Communications Network.

We thank Monique for her steadfast commitment, dedication, and joie de vivre that she brought to College work. We will all miss working with Monique, and we are grateful for her contributions over the years. We wish Monique all the best for the future and a retirement filled with family and relaxing sunsets.
