Important Clarification from the Ministry and NEW Order about In-Person Work at One Location for Long-Term and Home Care providers.

The College has received clarification from the Ministry regarding the orders limiting health providers to one work place. The Orders apply only to employees of long-term care homes or retirement homes providing in-person care. The overall goal is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in these highly vulnerable settings.

Health care providers who are subject to these Orders can provide care to more than one health care location so long as the additional locations are virtual. If you are working in-person, you must be working at  only one site. You may provide in-person care at one site while maintaining virtual essential care at other sites. Care can be provided virtually at multiple sites.

Please notify your employer if you work in-person at more than one site, as required by Government Order.

See below for Emergency Orders:

NOTE:These Orders only control the work locations of employees of LTC and retirement homes. If an RD is an employee of a hospital and is being redeployed (seconded or “loaned out”) to a LTC or retirement home, these particular Orders do not apply.
