Denis Tsang, RD, elected Board Chair of the College of Dietitians of Ontario

The College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) is pleased to announce the election of Denis Tsang, RD as Chair of the Board, and the election of the Executive Committee for 2024-2025.

"It's a great honour to serve as Chair of the College's Board," said Denis, who has a Master of Science in Human Health and Nutritional Science followed by a Master of Applied Nutrition in Dietetics from the University of Guelph. “This is an important year for College, as we are currently in the consultation stage of a new Strategic Plan, which will guide the direction of the College for the next four years.”

Denis' commitment to the College is evident in his three years of service as Vice-Chair. He highlighted his enjoyment of contributing to the collaborative success CDO has achieved to date by working with a diverse group of Board and Committee members. He also emphasized his dedication to the College's goals and milestones, as outlined in the Strategic Plan 2020-25.

“As a member of the dietetics profession, I’m very proud of the College’s track record as a regulator, and the work that Board does in the name of public protection,” said Denis. “The Board supports the operations of the College to ensure that the public is served by dietitians who are committed to delivering safe, ethical and competent dietetic services.”

The newly elected Executive Committee members of Council for 2024-2025 are:
Denis Tsang, RD – Chair
Ann Watt, RD – Vice-Chair
Brenda Murphy
Donna Hennyey, RD

The Board is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest. It sets the College’s strategic direction, monitors its activities, establishes bylaws, standards and regulatory policies. The Board is composed of approximately 12 members – seven elected dietitians and five to eight members of the public appointed by the government.
