CDO Presents Galina Semikhnenko as Newly Appointed Board Director

Galina Semikhnenko, M.Sc., appointed board member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario

CDO is pleased to announce the appointment of Galina Semikhnenko as a public member of the CDO Board of Directors by Order in Council.

Galina holds a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Kiev State University and has extensive experience in the mental health and forensic fields. She has worked in various capacities with community mental health agencies and leading hospitals throughout the GTA.

"I appreciate the opportunity to serve as a director on the CDO board," said Galina, "I look forward to bringing a wealth of healthcare experience to help the Board continue its mission of protecting the public."

The Board is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest. It sets the College’s strategic direction, monitors its activities, establishes by-laws, standards and regulatory policies. The Board is composed of approximately 12 members – seven elected dietitians and five to eight members of the public appointed by the government.
