CDO welcomes Zaw Thiha Tun as newly appointed director

The CDO Board of Directors is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest.

CDO is pleased to announce the appointment of Zaw Thiha Tun as a public member of the CDO Board of Directors by Order in Council.

Zaw has over a decade of experience in finance, having held a variety of positions. He is currently working as a Portfolio Manager at a Toronto-based investment management firm with a global presence. Originally from Vancouver, he relocated to Toronto in April 2024 and now resides in the East end of Toronto, drawn by its waterfront views reminiscent of the West Coast.

Zaw’s personal interests include cycling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training at his local club, and culinary exploration with his wife of 12 years. He is leveraging his financial and educational background to contribute meaningfully to the public sector. Zaw is a proud MBA graduate of Ivey Business School and a CFA Charterholder.

“I’m honoured to join the College’s Board of Directors and contribute to its important work in protecting the public and supporting the dietetic profession” said Zaw. “I look forward to applying my experience in finance and governance to help ensure that the College continues to operate with transparency, accountability, and integrity.”

The Board is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest. It sets the College’s strategic direction, monitors its activities, and establishes by-laws, standards, and regulatory policies. The Board is composed of approximately 12 members – seven elected dietitians and five to eight members of the public appointed by the government.
