THE College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) is pleased to announce the results of the executive committee election for 2025-26. Denis Tsang, RD and Ann Watt, RD have been elected Chair and Vice-Chair respectively of the CDO Board of Directors. Teresa Taillefer, RD and Galina Semikhnenko (public member) were elected as directors.
“It’s a privilege to be re-elected as Board Chair,” says Denis, who will serve as Chair for the second year in a row. “This is a critical time for Ontario’s healthcare regulatory colleges as professions adapt to the evolving needs of system partners. With our new Strategic Plan, CDO is well-positioned to address both the challenges and opportunities of access to the profession, labour mobility, scope of practice, and more.”
The Board is responsible for governing the College and regulating Ontario’s dietetic profession in the public interest. It sets the College’s strategic direction, monitors its activities, establishes bylaws, standards and regulatory policies. The Board currently comprises 11 members — six elected dietitians and five members of the public appointed by the government.
CDO is a recognized leader in governance modernization. “The Board is committed to ongoing learning and a stewardship mindset in everything we do,” explains Denis. “Every member of the Board is committed to advancing the College’s role in a healthier Ontario through excellence in dietetic regulation.”
