Committee Appointees
Committee appointees are dietitians and members of the public with specific skills, knowledge and experience, who bring their insights and expertise to help develop policies for the delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality care. They also help make decisions about applicants and registrants in quality assurance, registration, and complaint processes.
The Committee Competency and Attribute Framework identifies the skills, knowledge, experiences and backgrounds needed by each committee to effectively serve its mandate.
Committee appointees are remunerated in accordance with the honoraria policy for preparing for and attending meetings. In addition to meeting the time commitments, committee appointees are required to attend training sessions as needed.
Application process
Registrants are regularly invited to apply to become a committee appointee. Interested registrants are required to:
- Meet the eligibility requirements.
- Review the Committee Appointment Guide.
- Complete the orientation module and pass the assessment.
- Submit an application form and resume.
- Participate in an interview.
All applications are screened for completion and initial eligibility requirements. Eligible individuals will be invited to an interview.
The Board approves committee appointments at its June meeting. Individuals who have applied for a committee appointment will be notified after the meeting.
