STRATEGIC PLAN 2025-29 (ONE-PAGE HIGHLIGHTS)
The 2025-29 Strategic Plan was approved by CDO’s Board of Directors on March 21, 2025. The plan defines the results we aim to achieve. The strategic plan is intended to:

Guide the efforts of the Board, committees and staff.

Focus our energy and help us allocate resources into areas that the Board believes are necessary to fulfil our mission.

Provide system partners with insight into how the College intends to fulfil its mission and vision.
Goal One: Enhance trust and demonstrate regulatory value.
We uphold high regulatory standards that ensure the College’s impact on public safety.
- Demonstrate effectiveness and commitment to innovation by continuously improving regulatory practices using right-touch regulation and other leading practices and using data-driven insights to enhance public protection and accountability.
- Provide education about accessing reliable ntrition support and information.
- Improve the quaility of nutrition care for the public by regulating professional nutrition titles.
- Maintain high service standards to ensure responsive and transparent interactions with the public and Registered Dietitians.
Goal Two: Expand access and reduce barriers to practice.
We support an accessible pathway for dietitians to enter and grow within the profession.
- Collaborate with system partners to identify ways to optimize the dietetic scope of practice within the healthcare system in the public interest and strengthen the public’s access to high-quality, safe dietetics care.
- Streamline processes to reduce administrative barriers and enhance accessibility to entry to practice.
Goal Three: Promote quality care and professionalism.
We enable RDs in the delivery of high quality care through right-touch standards and resources.
- Support RDs in their delivery of care in the context of evolving practice environments and emerging practices in the healthcare system.
- Align professional regulatory obligations and resources with the practice environment, proportionate to the risk to the public.
- Engage in outreach and collaboration with Registered Dietitians to foster continuous learning and shared commitment to quality practices.
