Communication and Collaboration
Dietitians demonstrate Communication and Collaboration competencies across all three areas of practice. It is essential that dietitians have effective written, oral and interpersonal skills, and are able to use appropriate communication approaches when working with clients, interprofessional team members, stakeholders and others. Dietitians are also expected to be able to communicate effectively and collaborate with others to achieve practice goals.
Read the competencies, related performance indicators (PIs) and examples provided. Answer the survey questions below.
Please note: There are many ways an individual can demonstrate his or her ability to achieve the PIs. We encourage you to read the examples, but also think more broadly about how you may have applied your knowledge and skill to demonstrate the PIs in your professional experiences.
Standard 1: Dietitians must ensure their advertising and marketing is truthful and accurate.
